You're already writing the email. Once the meeting is set, cc Hold. Hold reads the correspondence and sends an invitation.
The time, the place, the people. Cc Hold when you would have sent the invitation, and it is sent.
Nothing changes about the way you work.

The note that used to close with “I'll send an invite to hold the time.”
It still can. Cc Hold, and it is done.
The full correspondence, not only the last message. Time and place often sit a few replies above. Hold takes them from there and books the meeting.
Not another calendar. Not a website you join. Hold handles the step after the meeting is agreed, and before the invitation exists.
Those whose day is already email. If you were about to leave the thread, open Calendar, and re-enter what was just decided, that is the work Hold does.
